This Halloween Bookshelf is the Spookiest Spot in the House!
I curated this spooky-cute Halloween bookshelf in William’s nursery to celebrate his first Halloween!
Now that he is nine months old, we have been nailing the bedtime routine and that includes reading a book every night before bed.
To get into the Halloween spirit, I curated this little book nook filled with first-time Halloween books.
I purchased about 15 books, so as soon as October kicks off, we’re going to read each book twice before the holiday!
I loved the small-space solution I came up with once I discovered the perfect-sized white floating bookshelves for his nursery.
This cozy book nook has quickly become one of our favorite spots in the house. I didn’t realize how much fun this little spot would be for me to change out and decorate!
Here’s How to Curate Your Own Halloween Bookshelf for Baby
Pick A Bookshelf to Decorate
First, any bookshelf will work!
You don’t need specific wall shelves like we have; you can dress up any bookshelf you already have.
But how cute are these scalloped ones?! And here’s a set of four shelves for under $30.
You could even use a floor bookcase. Just make sure it’s baby-friendly.
Whether you have a rocker in your nursery or even a comfy bean bag chair, having a cozy place to snuggle up makes for the best nook to read with your little one.
Decide What Your Bookshelf Theme Will Be
I had so much fun with the Halloween bookshelf theme that I think I’ll start doing this for every holiday!
It’s a great way to help your little learn about holiday and family traditions and get excited about what each season has to offer.
I love how subtle these touches can bring the season into the room.
Just putting together all Halloween and fall books will do!
Or you could also consider a monochromatic theme and compile all similar colored books together which is how I’ve organized William’s Halloween bookshelf.
The top shelf has all the white and orange-colored books. The middle had all orange and purple books. And the bottom has books with the dark blue covers.
For his books that aren’t seasonal, I love to arrange them like a rainbow!
Add Baby-Friendly Accents to Your Bookshelf
To bring to life the Halloween bookshelf theme, I added the cutest pumpkin and felt pom pom garland that matches William’s nursery colors.
There are endless possibilities to add the cutest flair to your child’s Halloween bookshelf!
Start by looking through the decorations you already have on hand to hang on the shelves.
You could try traditional pumpkin or ghost garland or these fairy lights or pumpkin string lights to create the spookiest Halloween ambiance (on the high shelves or maybe when William is a bit older!).
I love the idea I found on Pinterest to frame shelves with these cute bats that stick to the wall.
