Sometimes you want to indulge, and this creamy strawberry yogurt smoothie is just what you need to power through your day.
It tastes like a strawberry milkshake, but it’s way better for you!
While I’m a fan of other smoothie variations like the Simple Blueberry Smoothie or a non-dairy Strawberry Banana Smoothie, adding yogurt to your blend takes it to a whole new level.
Not only does it increase the protein content to keep you full for longer, but it also introduces naturally occurring probiotics that support your gut health.
The best part about the strawberry yogurt smoothie is its simplicity.
With just a handful of ingredients, it’s a breeze to make and perfect for satisfying your sweet cravings. And it quickly comes together in just about 5 minutes.
Whether you’re looking to make a tasty smoothie for yourself or a creamy treat for your kids, you can’t go wrong with this strawberry yogurt smoothie recipe.
The awesome thing about strawberry smoothies is that they’re great for every time of the day. A tasty breakfast, a lunchtime boost, or a dessert for the evening, and it’s packed with health benefits that will keep you from a sugar overload.

Tips for Preparing this Strawberry Yogurt Smoothie
Fresh vs. Frozen: If you have fresh strawberries on hand, go ahead and use them, but you’ll have to compensate by using a cup of ice. Which is why I highly recommend frozen strawberries for texture and to make the recipe cold like a milkshake. Plus, frozen strawberries are available year-round, allowing you to enjoy this recipe any time you please.
Greek Yogurt: Greek yogurt adds the creamy texture to the smoothie while boosting its protein content. Feel free to use your favorite brand or experiment with different flavors such as vanilla or strawberry Greek yogurt.
Sweeten: Just a tablespoon of honey can give this recipe the sweetness it needs. Consider also adding a pitted Medjool date in place of or in addition to if you’d like it to be even more sweet. Adjust the sweetness according to your preference.
Flavor & Health Enhancers: I like to add flaxseed & chia seeds to improve taste and health-benefits of increased fiber. Vanilla extract enhances this smoothie flavor to taste more like a milkshake. Plus, I used unsweetened almond milk. You can skip this if you use vanilla flavored nut or regular milk, or vanilla protein powder.
Make it Fresh: A strawberry yogurt smoothie is best made fresh, but will keep up to 24 hours in the fridge in a glass container with a lid. This recipe is for one serving (person). Double to share 🙂
Blending: Add your liquids (greens if you’re including them) first, before the frozen strawberries to ensure there’s enough liquid and ensure they’re blended completely!
Customize and Experiment: Don’t be afraid to get creative! Add a handful of spinach or kale for an extra nutritional boost without compromising the taste. You can also throw in a scoop of your favorite protein powder or nut butter for added health benefits.
