This refreshing Morning Meditation juice recipe is a copycat of the popular First Watch blend. Made with fresh oranges, lemon, beet, turmeric, and ginger, it’s naturally anti-inflammatory, immune-supporting, and tastes like a treat. Perfect for a morning energy boost or post-workout refreshment.

Ingredients

  • 2 medium oranges, peeled
  • ½ lemon, peeled
  • 1 inch fresh ginger root (or ½ tsp ground ginger)
  • 1 inch fresh turmeric root (or ½ teaspoon ground turmeric)
  • pinch of black pepper (optional, helps absorb turmeric)
  • ¼ raw beet, peeled
  • 1-2 teaspoons agave nectar (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Prep ingredients: Wash and peel all ingredients. Cut oranges, lemon, and beet into chunks that fit your juicer’s feed tube.
  2. Make the orange base: Juice the oranges, lemon, ginger, and turmeric together. Stir in agave nectar and optional black pepper.
  3. Pour the base: Pour the orange juice mixture into your glass first, filling it about ¾ full.
  4. Juice the beet separately: Run the beet through your juicer into a separate container. Stir in agave nectar to taste.
  5. Create the layered look: Slowly drizzle the beet juice over the back of a spoon into the glass, or pour gently down the side. It will settle on top and create the signature two-tone sunrise effect.
  6. Serve: Drink immediately over ice, or stir to combine flavors. Store extras in a sealed glass jar in the refrigerator. Shake well before drinking.

Notes

  • Beet tip: Start with ¼ beet—it’s very potent. You can add more next time if desired.
  • Layering trick: Orange base goes in first, beet juice on top for the two-tone look. Pour the beet slowly for best results.
  • Storage: Best consumed fresh. Can be stored in refrigerator for 24-48 hours (centrifugal juicer) or 3-4 days (cold press juicer) in an airtight glass container.
  • No juicer? Blend all ingredients with ¼ cup water in a high-speed blender, then strain through a nut milk bag or fine mesh sieve.
  • Substitutions: Can use honey or maple syrup instead of agave. Can use honey or maple syrup instead of agave. Can use ground turmeric (½ tsp) or ground ginger (½ tsp) if fresh roots are unavailable. Just stir them into the finished juice.
  • Shortcut: Use 8 oz store-bought orange juice and just juice fresh beet, ginger, and turmeric. Mix ginger/turmeric juice into OJ with agave, then layer beet on top.
