A creamy iced banana bread matcha latte made with banana milk, cinnamon, vanilla, and matcha for a cozy coffee shop-style drink at home.

Ingredients

For The Banana Milk

  • ¾ cup milk of choice
  • ½ ripe banana
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
  • Tiny pinch of nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup or brown sugar, plus more to taste
  • Tiny pinch of salt

For The Matcha

  • 1 to 2 teaspoons matcha powder
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons warm water

For Serving

  • Ice
  • Extra cinnamon, optional

Instructions

  • Add the milk, banana, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, maple syrup or brown sugar, and salt to a blender.
  • Blend until smooth and creamy.
  • In a small bowl or cup, whisk the matcha powder with warm water until smooth and frothy.
  • Fill a glass with ice.
  • Pour the banana milk over the ice.
  • Pour the matcha over the banana milk.
  • Stir, sprinkle with extra cinnamon if desired, and enjoy.

Notes

  • For a thinner latte, use ½ banana. For a thicker, sweeter drink, use a whole banana.
  • Brown sugar gives this drink more of a bakery-style banana bread flavor, while maple syrup keeps it a little lighter.
  • For the smoothest drink, strain the banana milk before pouring it over ice.
